The research training group SynAGE invites you to a lecture with Prof. Holger Dannenberg from the George Mason University College of Science.
When: Friday 21st of March, 2025 at 3 pm
Where: Zoom (please contact Dana Zöllner)
Title: Dynamics in cholinergic neuromodulation supporting memoryguided navigation
Holger Dannenberg obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience here in Germany at the University of Bonn. He was then awarded a two-year postdoctoral fellowship from the German Research Foundation as well as a career development award by the NINDS of the NIH that he both fulfilled in the Center of Systems Neuroscience at Boston University, Boston, MA. In 2021 Holger Dannenberg joined the Department of Bioengineering and the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience as Assistant Professor at George Mason University. He studies, in particular, neural mechanisms underlying the coding of spatial memory and spatial navigation using a combination of experimental techniques such as multiple single unit recordings, optogenetics as well as fiber photometry in freely behaving mice.
