Our annual Female Career Days took place in person at Roncalli Haus, under the motto “Discover your potential!”. More than 50 participants took this opportunity to meet and be inspired by successful female role models from the scientific community. In addition to the exciting talks and the round table discussions, we offered professional support in the form of CV checks and CV photo shoots. These offers gave the female researchers a motivating insight into their professional future and strengthened them for their later job applications.
After the first day of the event, two extensive 2-day workshops on the topics “From PhD to innovator – Discover your groundbreaking ideas” and “Project management & self-leadership for female scientists” took place in parallel. In the first workshop, participants learned about different aspects of an innovator’s skills and were introduced to the Design Thinking approach. They then developed and practiced their own pitch, which was later evaluated by the pitch jury. The second workshop focused on the key concepts of project management and self-leadership. Here, the participants learned how to develop their own individual leadership style and improve their communication skills in order to expand their scientific network.
