On June 6, 2026, the science festival “Tomorrow Labs 2026: Experience Science. Shape the Future” took place in Magdeburg. Numerous Magdeburg-based research institutions, startups, and initiatives presented themselves, their work, and exciting topics related to technology, the environment, health, and society.
Among them was the SFB Project B03, led by Project Director Thomas Wolbers. Gerard Callau Navarro and Ashar Imtiaz from the Wolbers Lab hosted an interactive workshop entitled “Virtual Reality Applications in Dementia Research – Enhancing Our Understanding of Age-Related Neurodegenerative Diseases.”
Visitors had the opportunity to experience virtual reality firsthand by trying on a VR headset and completing a spatial navigation task. This hands-on activity provided valuable insights into how virtual reality can be used to advance dementia research and improve our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.
The workshop attracted strong interest from visitors of all ages and was well attended throughout the event.
