The SFB 1436 organized an excellent interactive online workshop on scientific writing and publishing for PostDocs given by Shari Wiseman, Chief Editor of Nature Neuroscience, and Christian Schnell, Senior Editor of Nature Communications. The first day was focused on how to write good titles and abstracts that best describe our research – a valuable knowledge that we could apply on the second day in individual abstract reviewing sessions. The third day tackled the publishing process – what makes a constructive review and how does it influence the acceptance of a paper? All in all we were offered unique insights on the decision making processes of high ranking journals editors and got useful advice for writing papers.
